DOD-Pre Sales Systems Engineer
Location: Washington, DC
As a Palo Alto Networks pre-sales Systems engineer you and your Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for presenting the Palo Alto Networks Next Generation Firewall solution to prospective customers, creating and delivering demonstrations of the products, gathering customer technical requirements, creating evaluation test plans with customers, and then managing the evaluation process to a successful conclusion. You will work closely with customers as their primary point of contact for feedback and resolution of issues, and will be the customers’ advocate for issues that require assistance from the HQ TAC.You will provide feedback to the Product Management team on new feature requests and product enhancements from your customer base.
Extensive domestic travel within the territory is required, International travel may be required as necessary.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience selling network infrastructure based security appliances including but not limited to: Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, Security Proxies and Caches. Candidates should also have practical experience working with routing and switching products that will be installed adjacent to the Palo Alto Networks appliances.
In addition, Ideal candidates will possess deep knowledge of Military Branches, Pentagon, and DoD Strategic Commands - most importantly DISA.
Technical Requirements:
- BSCS or equivalent and 8+ years of experience as an SE or systems integrator
- Demonstrable experience with systems installation, configuration and administration of routers/switches, UNIX/Linux and Windows-based systems (prior Active Directory/LDAP experience desirable)
- Experience that emphasizes L2-L4 Networking (L2 Switching architectures including Spanning Tree, IP routing including OSPF and BGP ,L4 Load balancing )
- Experience selling, demonstrating, installing and troubleshooting network infrastructure security products

- Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, both internally and externally
- Strong problem solving skills, ability to analyze complex multivariate problems and use a systematic approach to gain quick resolution, often under duress

Preferences:
- Prior startup experience being one of the first SEs into an organization
- Experience working with Channel partners and understanding of a channel centric go to market approach.
- Experience from companies in the enterprise networking security space.
- Previous selling experience to Intelligence Community
- Top Secret Clearance or above

Intelligence Regional Sales Manager
Location: Washington, DC
As a member of the Palo Alto Networks sales team you will report to the Director of Federal Sales. You and your Systems Engineer will be responsible for delivering our initial customers and growing your territory. You will be responsible for managing your territory to deliver above quota sales performance. Palo Alto Networks has chosen to go to market with Security Focused Channel partners; you will be responsible for identifying and signing appropriate channel partners and then training them on the Palo Alto solution.
Intelligence Sales Executive with a highly successful experience selling network infrastructure based security appliances including but not limited to: Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, Security Proxies and Caches. Candidates should also have practical knowledge of routing and switching products that will be installed adjacent to the Palo Alto Networks appliances.
Previous success factors include overachievement of quota, top performer, history of initial seeding of accounts, and closing large enterprise deals. Ideal candidates will possess deep knowledge of major Intelligence Agencies and other classified environments.

- BS technical degree or equivalent

Primary Responsibilities

- Perform competitive and market analysis on competing products features, pricing, positioning, and packaging. Our innovative technology and approach has spawned many imitators, and we need to ensure our field is properly enabled to deflect competing claims.
- Present our products in formal and informal settings – sales calls, and industry, partner, and corporate events. Train the sales organization and channel partners on product capabilities and competitive differentiation.
- Demand Generation: Working with our demand generation team, you will help craft the materials we need for successful prospecting. You’ll also be involved in Web seminars, in-person talks, and trade shows to help drive business.
- Create datasheets, brochures, whitepapers, case studies, presentations, demos, and website content.
- Review and respond to requests for proposals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product marketing experience in information security, network security, or infrastructure. Specific experience in firewalls, IPS, compliance [PCI, SOX, HIPAA] - a plus.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Experience in public speaking.
- Ability to translate complex concepts and technologies into business-oriented value propositions.
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to think strategically while working tactically.
