Aperture, a Palo Alto Networks cloud-based service, provides complete visibly across all user, folder and file activity within a sanctioned SaaS application providing detailed analysis and analytics on usage to prevent data risk and compliance violations. Even more importantly, it allows granular context-aware policy control within these SaaS applications to drive enforcement and quarantine of users and data as soon as a violation occurs.

### Some highlights of the latest Aperture release include

#### O365 support on Aperture

Aperture adds Office 365 with OneDrive and Sharepoint support to its list of sanctioned applications. Aperture adds the ability to protect data from exposure and threats in the Office 365 cloud itself, stopping them at the source before they have a chance to move to the network or mobile devices while also providing visibility and contextual control of sensitive data exposure.

#### Policy enhancements

* To protect your intellectual property, a new built-in [source code policy rule](https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/aperture/aperture/aperture_guide/manage-aperture-policy/aperture-policy-rules) has been added that can scan files for violations in source code exposure.
* Aperture includes a strict check for credit card numbers to reduce false positives. With strict checking, Aperture will do additional matching for the credit card number prefix to the match the credit card number type.
* [Personally Identifying Information (PII) policy](https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/aperture/aperture/aperture_guide/manage-aperture-policy/aperture-policy-rules) enhancements include support for Canadian Social Insurance Number, UK --National Insurance Number (NINO) and Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR), Germany TFN (Steuerliche Identifikationsnummer), and Australian Tax File Number.

#### Administrator Enhancements

* You can now specify IP restrictions for admin login and allow a Super admin to reset passwords for other admins.
* For administrative ease, each admin can now [set the time zone](https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/aperture/aperture/aperture_guide/get-started-with-aperture/set-the-time-zone-aperture-uses-to-display-dates-and-timestamps) Aperture uses to display dates and timestamps.
* Aperture now includes a built-in [email template that is customizable](https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/aperture/aperture/aperture_guide/assess-and-remediate-risks/create-a-custom-email-template) to simplify notification of risks to users.

#### Enhanced Reporting

* Aperture adds the ability to view a list of all [users organized by their domains and details on what items are accessible](https://www.paloaltonetworks.com/documentation/aperture/aperture/aperture_guide/secure-cloud-apps/monitor-scan-results-on-the-dashboard) to each user.
* Administrators now have direct access to the WildFire risk report within Aperture on malware detected across the monitored SaaS applications.
* You can now audit admin activity and track changes initiated by any administrator.
* Wildfire risk reporting can now be compared to the VirusTotal database to understand the level of threat.
