Animal Logic Maximizes its Creative Resources With the Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform

Palo Alto Networks Santa Clara, CA Apr 05, 2018 at 10:00 AM

Provides Granular Control Over Access to Cloud and SaaS, Enabling Creativity While Mitigating Cyber Risks; Improves Network Performance, Boosting Creative Team Productivity

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – April 5, 2018 – Palo Alto Networks® (NYSE: PANW), the next-generation security company, today announced that Animal Logic, one of the world’s leading independent creative digital studios, expanded its Palo Alto Networks Next-Generation Security Platform to provide its creative teams with uninhibited, high-performance access to network and SaaS services while preventing exposure of creative intellectual property to cyber risks.

Animal Logic is known the world over for creating award-winning design, visual effects and animation in movies such as Peter Rabbit, The LEGO Movies, Happy Feet, Alien: Covenant, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and The Great Wall. With collaborative creative teams in Sydney, Los Angeles and Vancouver, its artists and designers must be able to share digital media files securely and efficiently to maintain production schedules and protect the company’s intellectual property. Animal Logic adopted the Palo Alto Networks platform several years ago, replacing its legacy firewalls because they no longer provided the performance to protect extremely large files in the face of evermore advanced cyberthreats.

With the rising popularity of SaaS applications such as Box, Office, 365, Dropbox, ShareFile, and Google Cloud Storage, as well as the move to strong ciphers for SSL encryption, Animal Logic turned to Palo Alto Networks again. This latest expansion delivers the company enhanced features to further strengthen the company’s defense against the rapidly changing threat landscape and gain highly granular control for teams accessing cloud and SaaS to enable creativity while mitigating cyber risks.

QUOTE

  • "We continue working with Palo Alto Networks because it’s a platform we can rely on. It provides the range of security capabilities we need on a single platform, so we don’t have to manage separate solutions. Palo Alto Networks has a forward-thinking approach, and its innovative product features are very important to us because we need to protect our business from constantly-evolving cyberthreats."
− Eugene Purugganan, systems engineer, Animal Logic

Today, Animal Logic relies on PA-5250 next-generation firewalls in a high availability configuration for its Sydney operation, along with the PA-5020 next-generation firewall in each of its two North American facilities. Animal Logic also takes advantage of Threat Prevention, App-ID™, User ID™, URL Filtering, and WildFire® cloud-based threat analysis services from Palo Alto Networks.

This comprehensive approach to network security prevents users from inadvertently downloading malicious files or uploading intellectual property to risky sites. It also blocks known and unknown threats from exploiting vulnerabilities that could allow cyberthreats, including ransomware, to disrupt the creative process. The ability of the Palo Alto Networks platform to efficiently perform SSL decryption and inspection plays a key role in enabling this strong protection, allowing Animal Logic to inspect the traffic with the newest ciphers and allow broader access to online services used by its creative teams.

Better control also means less unnecessary use of bandwidth, freeing up more room for legitimate traffic. Combined with the high performance of the Palo Alto Networks platform, creative teams can now share large files easily and efficiently with full inspection through the Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls. This gives the company the protection it needs without inhibiting the creative process.
