Mobile networks continue to evolve at a rapid pace with most service providers now well on their way to fully deploying 4G-LTE networks while also looking ahead to extend these networks to 5G. LTE has made networks faster and vastly more efficient. Unfortunately, it's also brought the vulnerabilities of IP wireline networks into the mobile realm and has exposed mobile subscriber devices to similar threats that, in the past, had only affected users connected to terrestrial networks.

As growing types of cyberattacks continue to victimize subscribers, there is growing risk exposure for the mobile operator as well. We are now at a tipping point where subscribers could minimize use of the mobile medium or lose trust in the mobile operator’s network, causing them to churn.

This paper provides a framework for value and revenue opportunities across the entire subscriber base, and discusses how a more robust and flexible security approach that provides full visibility could leverage the power of the mobile network and enable new revenue possibilities.
