The Energy at Citrix Synergy

Over the course of the year, I visit quite a few events around the world. I have a pretty good idea of what makes a great show, and Citrix Synergy is certainly one that's top shelf on all accounts. This year, the event is May 22nd through May 24th and being held at the Anaheim Convention Center.

What do I like about it? Well to start with, the agenda's packed with content.  Four tracks on Mobility, Cloud, Networking and Virtualization. With that kind of lineup, it's hard to decide which session I want to see next, because there's just too much good stuff. The show organizers also make an effort to get people to know one another. Lunch at Synergy isn't just an awkwardly shared table where the only conversation is about passing the water pitcher with lemon it.  Instead, it's a chance to meet some really bright people who are keeping some of the biggest businesses in the world running. And to cap the week off, how about a party with one of the biggest bands in the world? Maroon 5 is going to be here performing a special show.

I'm also happy to report that there's even more good news. We are ecstatic to report that Palo Alto Networks is the winner of a "Best of Synergy 2013" award in the category of Networking. We are very grateful to the judging panel for the recognition on the hard work that we've put into building solutions for our mutual customers.

There’s been a lot of things that we’ve been developing together with Citrix:

  • First, the Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewall and Citrix Netscaler provide customers with a solution to increase application visibility and control and deliver security and availability to the data center
  • Second, we share a common vision on addressing enterprise mobility by using the next-generation firewall together with CitrixXenMobile Enterprise, which was just announced today at Synergy.
  • Third, the next-generation firewall provides network security for the backend of XenDesktop / XenApp environments by controlling the use of applications and protecting the user’s virtual desktop from external threats.

Are you at Citrix Synergy?  Stop by the Solutions Expo and say hi to us. We'd love to tell you more about what we've been working on, including the integration between the next-generation firewall and Citrix products. Until then, visit /partners/citrix.html to get all the details on what Citrix and Palo Alto Networks are doing together.
