Transforming Otis Worldwide’s legacy security to Zero Trust

After Otis Worldwide was spun off by United Technologies, it had to build its own in-house cybersecurity organization capable of defending against the diverse challenges of the global environment. Its leaders knew that their network security needed to move away from a traditional “castle-and-moat” approach to a modern Zero Trust model.

Otis needed a new strategy for security that met a diverse set of regulatory requirements, including data residency, but wouldn’t get in the way of productivity and profitability. Otis brought together a suite of Palo Alto Networks products, including the PA-220 hardware firewall and VM-100 virtual firewall, along with products from other vendors, to implement Zero Trust across the organization and meet its security and business needs.

Bringing together a suite of products that work well together, Otis reduced cost and streamlined processes for employees by consolidating vendors while also ensuring that only those who were authorized to access data and systems could access them with Zero Trust.
