Palo Alto Networks Joins Google Cloud to Secure Workspace Customers With SaaS Security and Cortex XDR
Today’s workplace has changed. In a short time, the shift from in-person to online has dramatically reshaped how and where work gets done. To accommodate this reality, forward-thinking businesses adapted, pursuing a new digital agenda that changes how we operate, innovate and communicate. Google’s Workspace suite plays a popular role in this transformation by providing the productivity tools that enable employees to explore flexible work styles and change how they collaborate.
However, this new endeavor has important cybersecurity implications. The same array of technologies-driving, operational transformation also brings added exposure and risk. Most notably, the lack of control over SaaS application usage introduces risks of data loss, malware and non-compliance. How can we ensure secure access to business information and domains if employees connect from different devices from numerous remote locations?
In response to this need, we are proud to announce our partnership as a part of the Google Work Safer program, offered to help organizations collaborate and communicate securely in today’s hybrid work environment. As the number and types of cybersecurity threats continue to increase, Palo Alto Networks will provide subscribers with a variety of integrated security features that meet the needs of today’s technology-driven organizations.
By participating in the Work Safer program, Workspace customers now have the opportunity to leverage Google Cloud’s native tools, then extend security coverage by subscribing to advanced features, delivered by Palo Alto Networks. This is highlighted by SaaS Security, an integrated cloud access security broker (CASB). It consistently provides complete visibility across all users, folders and activity within Google Workspace across the entire corporate SaaS environment. The solution also enables a detailed analysis of application use, preventing data loss and providing necessary regulatory compliance.
Cortex XDR completes this secure Workspace offering as the industry’s first extended detection and response platform that uses machine learning and AI models to uncover highly evasive threats. With Cortex XDR, Google Workspace customers can protect their endpoints from attacks with the solution that achieved the highest combined detection and protection scores in the MITRE ATT&CK round 3 test. Cortex XDR delivers best-in-class endpoint threat prevention, device control, disk encryption and more to block attacks while simplifying investigation and response.
The Work Safer program is provided in conjunction with Google's BeyondCorp Enterprise, resulting in a solution that helps organizations on the path to Zero Trust. By offering these services in a combined package, Palo Alto Networks and Google take the guesswork out of purchasing a comprehensive and secure solution, making it easier for any organization to achieve a stronger security posture quickly.
