Last month's PAN-OS 6.0 launch was a breakthrough release for WildFire, which now offers more malware detection capabilities for more file types, greater visibility into zero-day exploits, and a more simplified approach for IT security and incident response teams grappling with malware challenges.

To Phil Cummings, security administrator for Health Information Services - Nova Scotia, the enhanced WildFire offers that much more visibility into threats, but also easier, more streamlined reporting.

"Because the sandbox shows you things like registry changes, that gives you something concrete that you can give to a technician so they can go to a machine and look for those particular registry changes. It provides a behavioral report, but it also provides an activity report." Cummings recently explained to TechTarget.
