Today I share some personal news. After many, many months of planning, I will retire from Palo Alto Networks effective July 31, 2018, at the end of our Q4. It is bittersweet to say goodbye and to transition away from so many people of whom I am proud to know. However, at the same time, I look forward to spending a lot of time with my family.

I’m pleased to share that Karl Soderlund, currently Palo Alto Networks vice president of Americas Channels, will succeed me at the end of Q4. In the last year, Karl and his team have executed a sound channel strategy that has overachieved in all areas for the Americas. Karl is a 25-year veteran in high tech sales and has significant worldwide channel experience having been a worldwide channel chief twice prior to joining Palo Alto Networks.

Karl will partner with me over the rest of Q4 to ensure a seamless transition and a strong close to FY18. He will continue to drive the Americas Channels organization until he finds a replacement and that process is already actively underway. Please attend our NextWave Partner Huddle , on June 21, to hear directly from both Karl and I on the transition and how, together, we will close this quarter big.

It’s been an amazing five years with all of you, and every day here I saw the value of positive, enthusiastic, and dedicated teamwork. I want to express my most sincere thanks and acknowledge that partners have played a major role driving and supporting Palo Alto Networks growth. Together we have turned Palo Alto Networks into the global cybersecurity leader, known for always challenging the security status quo.

You, our NextWave partners, are the best in the business. I will reflect fondly on our teamwork, accomplishments and impact while lakeside.

Karl and I both hope to see you and answer your questions at the NextWave Partner Huddle , on June 21.
